Two Team Summit Colorado athletes have been selected to represent the United States at the 2026 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships, taking place March 7–15 in Narvik, Norway.
Stanley Buzek (Silverthorne, Colorado) and Jevin Palmquist (Eagan, Minnesota) are among the 16 athletes named to the roster by U.S. Ski & Snowboard, marking another major milestone for the Summit County–based development program.
“We’re incredibly proud of Stanley and Jevin,” said CB Bechtel, Executive Director of Team Summit Colorado. “They are outstanding humans and exceptional skiers. The work they’ve put in to earn this honor reflects their commitment, their character, and the strength of the development pathway here in Summit County. We look forward to watching them represent the United States, Colorado, and Team Summit on the world stage.”
Buzek returns to the Junior World Championships as a two-time medalist, having previously earned podium finishes in the team combined and team parallel events. Known for his technical strength in slalom, he enters Narvik as one of the more experienced athletes on the U.S. roster and a strong contender in the technical disciplines.
Palmquist, a member of the Stifel U.S. Ski Team’s Regional Development Team, continues to build momentum with strong performances this season. His selection marks his second invitation to the FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships, highlighting both his individual progression and Team Summit’s reputation as a premier training ground for developing elite alpine athletes.
The FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships are among the most important international competitions for emerging ski racers. The event brings together the world’s top junior athletes and has historically served as a launching point for future World Cup and Olympic competitors.
“This year’s Junior World Championship team showcases an outstanding group of athletes who have already demonstrated their potential with strong performances at the NorAm level and beyond,” said Chip Knight, Alpine Development Director of the Stifel U.S. Ski Team. “Blending valuable experience with emerging talent, this group is well-positioned to achieve meaningful individual results while contributing to a strong team effort for the U.S.”
The United States has a strong legacy at the Junior World Championships, with many past medalists going on to succeed on the World Cup circuit, including Lauren Macuga, Paula Moltzan, River Radamus, and Ryder Sarchett.
Competition in Narvik will include downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and team events, with live timing available through the International Ski Federation (FIS).
For Team Summit Colorado, the selections of Buzek and Palmquist reflect the continued success of the program’s athlete development pathway and its growing impact on the national alpine racing pipeline.
