In this episode on the Skiing is Believing Podcast, Alan and Matt are re-joined by Eurosport/FIS TV commentator Ian Findlay to review the two-giant slalom’s from Sölden for the men and the women this past weekend.
Over the course of the episode, Matt, Alan, and Ian covered all the talking points from the engrossing weekend as the FIS World Cup returned. The Swiss team missed out on the significant points they were hoping to earn at the beginning of the season, especially with Lara Gut-Behrami and Loic Meillard not participating.
However, two great returns on Sunday, Marcel Hirscher and Lucas Pinheiro Braathen.
Over the course of this episode, they answered several key questions:
- Can Austrians and Americans build after their fantastic start to the women’s season?
- Will Federica Brignone build on Saturday’s win, and could she take a couple of globes this season?
- Can Marco Odermatt immediately bounce back after Sunday’s DNF from bib 1?
- Will the Norwegians continue to produce top technical results after their clean sweep this weekend?
- Should we expect to see Hirscher climb the standings over the course of the season and get himself on the podium, and can Pinheiro get a win?
Tune in to find out what they think in the links below.
Please let Alan and Matt know what you thought of this article in addition to any of our episodes throughout the last year.
