U.S. Snowboarding presents Chevrolet Revolution Tour{mosimage}It’s almost time for the Olympic Winter Games, and if you’re wondering how to flow through the snowboard competition circuit for an opportunity to earn a medal for your country, the answer is simple – get yourself hooked on the Chevrolet Revolution Tour, making four stops across the nation in 2005-06.

Each of the venues (Spirit Mountain, Minn.; Killington, Vt.; Jackson, Wyo.; Windells Camp, Ore.) will feature superpipe, slopestyle and snowboardcross events. Some stops will even have a rail jam.
Entering its second year, the Chevrolet Revolution Tour, managed by U.S. Snowboarding, is in place to help bridge the gap between local-level competition and upper-level contests such as the U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix, Vans Cup, U.S. Open and X-Games.

Riders that have been ripping it up locally now have a regional series that will enable them to dial in their skills in hopes of progressing to the next level.
The top three finishers in superpipe, snowboardcross and slopestyle at each stop of the Revolution Tour will earn exempt spots in the 2006-07 U.S. Snowboard Grand Prix series. In addition, the overall series winners of each discipline will be awarded a spot in the USASA open-class nationals.

The Spirit Mountain event will serve as a qualifying event for World Junior Championships, with the top junior in each discipline invited to Korea for the 2006 world juniors. The top junior at each event also will be named to the 2006 U.S. Snowboarding Project Gold program.

Aside from earning precious spots in elite-level events, there are plenty of other awards. Burton, Bonfire, Helly Hansen, Level, Palmer, Smith, Swix and Windells are supporting the series and throwing down tons of prizes at each event.

Contests are open to all riders 13 and up for halfpipe and slopestyle and 15 and up for snowboardcross. A USSA regional membership is required to compete and can be obtained during on-site registration at each event. For more information, go to www.ussnowboarding.com/
