USST’s Jimmy Cochran breaks through in Europa Cup giant slalom{mosimage}James Cochran, who snuck out of the NCAA and onto the U.S. Ski Team at the end of last season, finished fifth in a Europa Cup giant slalom at San Vigilio di Marebbe on Thursday.
It was a classic Europa Cup race, with just one second separating the podium finishers from the guy in 21st.
Cochran finished the two runs with a total time of 1:44.22. The next-fastest American was Thomas Vonn in 15th with a time of 1:44.69.
