Dartmouth hosted the fourth carnival of the season at the Dartmouth Skiway on Friday and Saturday. Instead of the traditional GS and slalom, the athletes raced two slaloms over the two days. The second day featured soft snow with deteriorating conditions, mixing up the top finishers day to day, particularly on the women’s side.

UVM was once again a dominant force, finishing with the top team scores for the fourth consecutive week.

Mathias Tefre

UVM skier Joachim Jagge Lindstoel successfully claimed the top spot of the podium both days, for his fourth and fifth EISA wins of the season. On Friday, his teammate Mathias Tefre joined him on the podium in second place. Saturday Lindstoel shared the podium with his teammate Mackenzie Wood, who was in third place.

Kalle Wagner was the top Dartmouth athlete both days, finishing in second and then third the next day.

The UVM women were also extremely strong this week. Caroline Jones claimed second place on day one and third on day two. Moa Clementson improved her seventh place finish from the first day to a win on the second.

Hannah Utter

However, the Dartmouth women dominated Friday’s slalom, claiming first, third and fourth place. The Dartmouth women were unable to beat UVM after the two days because Carly Elsinger was their only woman to even crack the top 15 on Saturday with a 13th place.

The next carnival will be the Middlebury carnival, where athletes will take on the Middlebury Skibowl.
