Vermont has signed Alex Krebs away from the Eastern Region to serve as the state’s racing Youth Coordinator.
Krebs is uniquely qualified for the job having served the regional Eastern Youth Development Manager for the past seven seasons. Her roots are solid Vermont having begun her racing areer with the Ludlow based Okemo race program . She was the club director at Smuggler’s Notch a couple of seasons, graduated off the UVM Ski Team in 2002 and was a national ski team member from 1995-1999. She attended Green Mountain Valley School as well.
“I am very excited to be working with Vermont athlletes and to be giving back to my home state and association,” Krebs said. She will be leading the Vermont Alpine Racing Association (VARA) development programs and helping develop content, curriculum and programs targeting the elevation of the overall level of ski racing at the U12, U14 and U16 age class levels in Vermont. According to the release from VARA, coache’s education will be a high priority,

“Alex’s depth of experience, leadership, and track record of successful projects are exactly what VARA needs for its next phase of athlete development and growth as an association,” stated Julie Woodworth, VARA Executive Director.
