Weather cancels second downhill training run in Tarvisio
The second women’s downhill training run scheduled for today (March 3) in Tarvisio, Italy has been canceled due to snow.
Organizers lowered the start of yesterday’s training as snow began to fall. Accumulation continued over night and course crews worked to clear the course during an initial two-hour start time delay. As snow continued to fall the training run was canceled.
Since yesterday’s training run met the FIS minimum requirement of one trainer before a World Cup downhill, this weekend’s schedule will proceed as planned.
Competition kicks off with a super combined on Friday, March 4. The downhill is scheduled for Saturday, March 5 and the super G will run Sunday, March 6.
