Comeback

Against all odds, Marcel Hirscher, Lindsey Vonn, and Lucas Pinheiro Braathen have reignited their World Cup careers, each driven by an undeniable passion for skiing. Hirscher’s short-lived return ended in heartbreak after a knee injury cut his season short, leaving his future uncertain. Vonn, at 40, defied skeptics with a string of strong finishes, proving she still has the fire to compete. Meanwhile, Pinheiro Braathen electrified the circuit, delivering podium performances and putting Brazil on the alpine skiing map. Their comebacks, though different in outcome, share a common thread—an unrelenting love for the sport and the pursuit of one last chapter on their own terms.

Approaching her first World Cup race in nearly six years, Lindsey Vonn is back in her happy place. The 40-year-old feels stronger and better prepared to race than ever before.
