STOCKHOLM, Sweden — Former Olympic and world champion Gunde Svan has been appointed manager of Sweden’s cross-country teams.
Svan, 45, will supervise the men’s, women’s and junior national teams, the Swedish Ski Association said Wednesday.
Svan pocketed two World Cup titles, four Olympic and seven World Championships gold medals before he finished his skiing career in the early 1990s.
“It’s time to start paying back,” Svan said.
