Who is racing, when and how to watch the Soldeu women’s World Cup slalom final.

The season’s top-ranked women have been invited to race in the slalom World Cup finals tomorrow in Soldeu, Andorra. Additionally, the Junior World Champion from each discipline is qualified to race in their event. Also, this season there was a tie for the 25th position so there were 26 women invited and all of them will race tomorrow.

Sweden’s Junior World Champion Hanna Elfman Aronsson is a young World Cup star and ranked 9th in the World Cup slalom standings. Her season of excellent World Cup results qualified her for the final.

With two races remaining on the 2023 World Cup calendar, Mikaela Shiffrin has already earned the 2023 season overall, giant slalom and slalom titles. She has won 13 2023 World Cup races and six of those are slaloms. Tomorrow it can be assumed that she will be aggressively pursuing her seventh.

However, four other women have won World Cup slaloms this season. While anything is possible every victory is challenging to execute. Notably, the women of the Stifel US Alpine Team are currently leading the Nations Cup slalom standings. They have a significant 91 point lead over the Swiss women, however, while the US women will have two stars skiing the Swiss will have a total of four women competing, therefore the lead is not safe.

However, it is exciting that Paula Moltzan and Shiffrin are among the top seven on the slalom World Cup Start List. Shiffrin is 1st and Moltzan is 7th, which should be an advantage in tomorrow’s race.

Currently, the US women are leading the 2022-23 Nation Cup slalom standings.

There are five North Americans entered to race the Soldeu slalom on March 18th, two from the USA and three from Canada.

The women’s first run starts at 5:30 am Eastern Time and 2:30 am on the West Coast. The second run will begin at 8:30 am Eastern Time and 5:30 am on the West Coast.  

In the USA, the women’s World Cups in Soldeu will be available for viewing live and as a replay on the streaming service Ski and Snowboard Live. World-class ski racing commentator Steve Perino is announcing the Soldeu races. The races will also be simulcast on Peacock.
