Stifel Success Presents the FIS NorAm Cup 2026 Calendar Featuring World Cup Venues and a Balanced Schedule
The FIS Alpine NorAm Cup is North America’s continental series — and also its toughest to schedule. While World Cup races are set early in the offseason, the NorAm calendar often takes months of negotiation to finalize. Fewer venues can host, operating costs are high, and the goal is always to balance U.S. and Canadian stops while avoiding conflicts with the NCAA calendar so collegiate athletes can participate.
This is the most current draft of the 2026 NorAm calendar. As always, it remains subject to change.
Still, the Stifel Success NorAm Cup carries immense prestige. It awards coveted personal World Cup regular-season start positions to the top two North Americans in each discipline. At the same time, the North American licensed overall champion secures start rights in all regular-season World Cup events the following season. This year’s calendar features World Cup venues at the openers in Copper Mountain and Beaver Creek, as well as Tremblant in Quebec, before concluding with a dramatic joint gender Finals in Aspen, Colorado.

U.S. Alpine National Championships
Immediately following the Aspen Finals, the U.S. Alpine National Championships will be staged in Vail, Colorado, March 28–31. The proposed schedule is:
- Mar. 28 — super-G (both genders)
- Mar. 29–30 — alternating men’s and women’s giant slalom (each gender gets one day off), which day is to be determined.
- Mar. 31 — slalom (both genders)
This championship week provides an important final test for athletes at the end of the season.
Finals in Aspen
Aspen once again provides the dramatic backdrop for the season-ending Finals. Both men and women will train and race on the same venue, where discipline titles and the personal World Cup start positions for 2027 will be awarded. The week in Aspen will be followed closely by U.S. Nationals in nearby Vail, extending the season for many athletes.
A Note of Appreciation
The NorAm Cup calendar is one of the most challenging to finalize in ski racing, and it only comes together due to the tireless dedication of the NorAm committees in the United States and Canada, working closely with their national governing bodies and resort hosts. Equal appreciation goes to the venues across North America — including World Cup stops such as Copper Mountain, Beaver Creek, and Tremblant — that commit resources, time, and passion to hosting this crucial race series and the U.S. Nationals.
Careful planning to avoid NCAA conflicts ensures collegiate athletes can continue to participate, strengthening fields and raising the level of competition. The ski racing community owes a deep debt of gratitude to the combined efforts that have delivered another balanced and challenging season.
Safety Reminder
Starting in the 2025–26 season, FIS is making cut-resistant undergarments mandatory for all alpine racing events classified as Level 0 and 1 — which includes the World Cup, World Junior Championships, and Continental Cups such as the NorAm series.
Key details of the rule:
- Effective date: 2025–26 season
- Mandatory zone: Between the iliac crest (top of the hip) and the ski boot
- Protection level: Minimum 3 FIS Stars according to the FIS-DITF standard
- Applies to: Alpine racing at Level 0 and 1
- Recommendation: Strongly recommended for all other levels and disciplines
This means that at NorAms, athletes must wear pants meeting the standard. While not required for lower levels, FIS strongly advises their use across all events and disciplines for added safety.
Athletes preparing for the season should consider the latest product from U.S.-based VIX Protection, a leader in the industry for cut-resistant clothing. The company will soon open preorders for a new garment carrying the highest 5-star FIS rating, the top industry standard for cut-resistant, FIS-approved products. A preorder link will be activated shortly, with shipments expected to begin in early November. Preorders will be available at VIX Protection.
