Over the next two weeks, Matt Garcka and Alan Rigg will be providing daily Olympic podcasts throughout the 2026 Milano-Cortina Games.

They will be covering everything from the women’s events down the famous Olympia della Tofane of Cortina d’Ampezzo and men’s racing in Bormio, on the classic Stelvio. In total there are 10 medal events in ski racing at the Games, with both men and women competing in Downhill, Team Combined, Super-G, Giant Slalom and Slalom.

For the opening episode of the Games, Ian Findlay, a TNT Sports and FIS TV commentator who is covering six sports during these Olympics for British television, joins Matt and Alan to tackle all the biggest stories.

They discussed all the key subjects ahead of the opening event on Saturday with the Men’s Downhill. Particularly this week’s big news items regarding Lindsey Vonn’s injury and Aleksander Aamodt Kilde’s absence.

They go in-depth on the best medal opportunities for the US Olympic Team, who have one of their strongest women’s teams ever, and the three British slalom representatives: Dave Ryding, Laurie Taylor and Billy Major.

Some of the guests over the course of the games will include Daron Rahlves, Ivica Kostelic, Sarah Schleper, Britt Janyk and many more.

Hosts Matt and Alan will be joined by a different former ski racer or expert every day to review the day’s action from Italy. They’ll explore and tell the bigger and smaller stories from the alpine world from both Cortina and Bormio as well as reviewing the medal table, Olympic history and what these Games mean.

About the Author: Matt Garcka

Matt Garcka is the co-host of the Skiing is Believing podcast. Garcka's involvement in ski racing as a fan and a journalist has so far been relatively short-lived. His co-host and grandad inspired him to start watching ski racing four years ago. Matt's love for ski racing has only grown since then, with the podcast in its second series now. One day, he hopes to be a senior sports/ski racing commentator, with his journalistic career having recently begun, aged 16.
