PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Mikaela Shiffrin is turning a record-setting season into a lasting investment in the future of ski racing.

The winningest alpine skier in history announced Monday the expansion of her MIK100 initiative, partnering with Share Winter Foundation and Oakley to launch the “GOAT Gives Back” event at Copper Mountain, Colorado, according to a U.S. Ski & Snowboard press release distributed by communications director Megan Harrod.

The initiative carries a $1 million fundraising goal aimed at increasing access to skiing and snowboarding for youth across the United States.

The announcement follows one of the most dominant seasons of Shiffrin’s career, highlighted by her third Olympic gold medal, a ninth career slalom title, a sixth Overall Crystal Globe, and a record-extending 110th World Cup victory.

A direct investment in the next generation

Access remains one of the most significant barriers in snow sports, even as performance levels continue to rise globally.

Through Share Winter Foundation, Shiffrin is targeting that gap—helping fund programs that introduce young athletes to skiing and snowboarding and keep them progressing in the sport. Following her 100th World Cup victory, Shiffrin helped raise nearly $500,000 for the organization, according to the release.

Now, she is aiming higher.

At the center of the initiative is a private, invite-only on-snow experience at Copper Mountain, where Shiffrin will ski and ride alongside 40 young participants from Share Winter grantee elevateHer, according to the release. The program focuses on building confidence, resilience, and community for young women through outdoor sport.

“I’m really looking forward to getting on the mountain and playing a small part in investing in the futures of these young women,” Shiffrin said. “This sport has given me so much—not only professionally, but personally. This event is about sharing that and creating more access for others.”

Industry support reinforces a shared goal

The initiative brings together key partners across the industry, reinforcing a broader commitment to growing participation in winter sports.

Oakley, one of Shiffrin’s longtime partners, will support the event by providing goggles for each participant and helping deliver the on-mountain experience. Ikon Pass and Copper Mountain will contribute lift tickets, rentals, and equipment support, according to the release.

“There is no one more inspiring for young athletes than Mikaela,” said Dustin Lyman, president and general manager of Copper Mountain. “We are committed to expanding access and creating opportunities for more young people to experience the sport.”

Amplifying the message through women’s sports

The event will also be supported by TOGETHXR, a leading women’s sports media platform, which will document and amplify the experience.

Each participant will receive a U.S. Ski & Snowboard x TOGETHXR crewneck featuring the slogan “Everyone Watches Women’s Sports™,” according to the release.

“This moment raises the bar in a meaningful way,” said Share Winter CEO Constance Beverley. “It takes real investment to grow participation, and this initiative is helping make that possible.”

What $1 million could mean

The impact of the initiative is measurable and immediate.

It costs approximately $500 to support one child for a full season on snow, according to Share Winter Foundation. Reaching the $1 million goal would allow thousands of young athletes to access skiing and snowboarding—many for the first time.

That kind of access is critical to the long-term growth and diversity of the sport.

Expanding a legacy beyond results

Shiffrin’s competitive résumé is unmatched—110 World Cup victories, 168 podiums, eight world titles, six Overall globes, and three Olympic gold medals.

She remains the only skier in history to win across all six alpine disciplines.

Now, her focus continues to expand beyond results.

With initiatives like this, Shiffrin is helping shape what the future of ski racing looks like—not just at the top level, but at the entry point of the sport itself.
