Founded in 1994, The Winter Sports School is an instructor-led, college preparatory, public charter school in Park City, Utah, for dedicated student-athletes in grades 9-12. Unique to the Winter Sports School is an academic calendar that runs from April through November of each year to optimize the balance of rigorous academic and athletic pursuits.
Different than the traditional sports academy model, Winter Sports School students benefit from the opportunity to choose the athletic teams, coaches and training venues that meet their individual needs and goals. The school serves student athletes in every ski and snowboard discipline, as well as other Olympic sports including hockey, mountain biking, sport climbing and equestrian competition.
The Winter Sports School is focused on preparing students for a successful collegiate experience and is accredited by Cognia, which holds students to high educational standards. Graduates currently attend more than 45 different renowned colleges and universities nationwide and internationally. There are currently 24 student-athletes who are active U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team members who have benefitted from the Winter Sports School experience.
