Powder7 Scholarship Offers Full Season With Loveland Ski Club for Local Athlete
Applications are open through November 20 for a scholarship covering YSL Team tuition and gear support for one Clear Creek County athlete.
For families living near a ski area, getting a child into ski racing can still be a financial stretch. This winter, Loveland Ski Club and Powder7 are helping one local athlete join the team through the Powder7 Skiing For All Scholarship.
The needs-based scholarship covers full tuition for the club’s 2026–27 Youth Ski League (YSL) Team, along with a Powder7 gift card to help purchase equipment. It is open to athletes ages 6 to 15 who live in Clear Creek County, Colorado, and whose families face a financial barrier to participation.
Applications are due November 20, 2026. The Scholarship Committee will contact every applicant by November 30, ahead of the first scheduled training day on December 5.
What the Scholarship Covers
The recipient will receive a full season with Loveland Ski Club’s YSL Team, including:
- A Loveland Ski Area season pass
- 18 scheduled days of coaching from U.S. Ski & Snowboard-certified coaches
- Dedicated race venue training
- A team jacket loan
- A Powder7 gift card for skis, boots or other gear needed for the season
The club will also waive the recipient’s YSL work deposit.
An Introduction to Racing and the Whole Mountain
Loveland Ski Club’s YSL Team offers a one-day-a-week introduction to ski racing. Athletes train across Loveland Basin and Loveland Valley and compete in the Youth Ski League series.
The program combines race training with the skills young skiers need to explore the mountain. Through the club’s Method of Progression, athletes develop fundamentals they can apply to bumps, steeps, glades, deeper snow and groomers.
Gate training follows an age-appropriate progression, beginning with brushes, stubby gates and dye lines before moving into slalom and giant slalom courses.
The aim is to help athletes finish the season as stronger, more confident skiers while enjoying time on snow with their teammates.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants must live in Clear Creek County and be between ages 6 and 15. Athletes should be able to ski parallel on blue runs, feel comfortable trying more challenging terrain and enjoy being outside for three to four hours at a time.
They must also be able to manage their own lunch, bathroom breaks and equipment, and have transportation to Loveland Ski Area each Saturday of the season.
The scholarship is intended for a household where cost is a barrier to joining the team.
How to Apply
A parent or legal guardian must complete and sign the scholarship application and submit it with proof of Clear Creek County residency and financial need.
Accepted residency documents include a current utility bill, lease, mortgage statement, property tax notice or Clear Creek School District enrollment confirmation for the athlete.
Families participating in qualifying assistance programs can document financial need with an approval letter or card. Those programs include Free or Reduced Price School Meals, Health First Colorado, CHP+, SNAP, WIC, Colorado Works and LEAP.
Families who do not participate in those programs can share their household income and provide the first page of their most recent tax return, two recent pay stubs per earner or a short signed statement.
Email the completed application and supporting documents to scholarships@lovelandskiclub.com by November 20, 2026.
A Confidential Application Process
Applications are reviewed only by the Scholarship Committee. Coaches, other families and Powder7 will not see them, and applying will not affect an athlete’s team placement.
The recipient will not be named publicly without the family’s permission. Supporting financial documents will be destroyed once the award is applied.
