Stifel US Ski Team member AJ Hurt has started her 2023/24 competition campaign with an Australia-New Zealand Cup (ANC) GS victory. The 22-year-old from Palisades Tahoe traded winning runs with New Zealand’s star Alice Robinson but finished the day {-0.07) ahead. During her career, the 21-year-old Robinson has earned five World Cup podiums, three of which were victories. She was also racing well on her home mountain, making Hurt’s accomplishment even more impressive.

Dartmouth graduate and Stifel US Ski Team member Nina O’Brien joined the two women on the podium in third (+0.68). Just missing the podium in 4th was Stifel US Ski Team athlete AVA Sunshine (+1.05).

Stifel US Ski Team women’s coach Magnus Anderrson reported good conditions under sunny skies. He also says that the first two weeks of the New Zealand camp in Roundhill and Ohau were excellent. Today’s results are indeed evidence of a productive prep season.

Tuesday has started in NZ and is another chance for Robinson to seek redemption and the US women to excel.
