A statement from the Swiss Alpine Team confirms positive tests among three of its racers, Loïc Meillard, Justin Murisier, and Marco Odermatt. The athletes have been moved into isolation and are showing only mild symptoms.

As a result, the athletes will not be able to take part in the upcoming parallel events in Lech/Zuers on Friday. It is also in question if the Swiss trio will be able to race in two giant slaloms in Val d’Isère, France, Dec. 5-6.

Other tests within the Swiss ski team were negative and a broader outbreak has been ruled out, according to a Swiss spokeswoman.

Meillard won a parallel competition in Chamonix in February. Odermatt would have also been a strong contender coming off a second-place finish at the GS opener in Soelden.
