BREAKING: Feuz Takes Shortened Beaver Creek Downhill
Switzerland’s Beat Feuz took back-to-back victories in the Beaver Creek downhill on Saturday, schooling the field with a time of 1:12.98 seconds. High winds in the morning forced organizers to lower the start to “The Brink” and cut out the top flat section, shortening the course by about 30 seconds.
Feuz bested the field by over four-tenths of a second in an otherwise very tight race, finishing 0.41 seconds ahead of France’s Johan Clarey and Austria’s Vincent Kriechmayr, who tied for second place.
Ryan Cochran-Siegle led the American Downhillers in an impressive sixth place, 0.49 seconds back and 0.08 seconds from a podium after a thrilling run down the Birds of Prey. Cochran-Siegle was followed by Steven Nyman in 16th place and Jared Goldberg in 21st.
