Federica Brignone’s comeback path continues with positive momentum after a successful arthroscopic procedure on her left knee in Milan. The 2025 World Cup overall champion will resume rehabilitation Wednesday at JMedical in Turin.

According to the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI), Brignone underwent the procedure nearly four months after her initial surgery on April 3. The goal was to evaluate the condition of the joint and accelerate recovery from lingering pain. Dr. Andrea Panzeri, president of the FISI Medical Commission, performed the operation at Casa di Cura “La Madonnina.”

“This arthroscopy was planned to assess the joint and, above all, improve her range of motion, which had reached 110 degrees of flexion,” Panzeri said in a statement released by FISI. “We cleaned up the area to increase flexion. Federica will need to be slightly cautious in the next few days, but this step was necessary to accelerate her recovery.”

Brignone, 35, dominated the 2024–25 season, winning the downhill, giant slalom, and overall World Cup titles along with two medals at the World Championships. Her return to full strength remains on track, and the latest medical update marks another step forward in her bid to compete at the 2026 Cortina Olympics.

Dr. Panzeri added that the procedure also allowed doctors to inspect the knee’s internal condition. “Everything looked good,” he said. “She’ll return to work tomorrow with physiotherapy.”

Brignone has not publicly set a timeline for her return to snow, but with rehab resuming immediately, the signs point to continued progress.
