PORTOROŽ, Slovenia — Club5 Ski Classics used its spring plenary meeting during the FIS Spring Meetings to review one of the busiest alpine skiing seasons in recent memory while continuing to expand its influence as the representative body for Alpine World Cup local organizing committees.
According to a press release issued by Club5 Ski Classics, organizers reflected on a 2025-26 season shaped by the Milan-Cortina Olympic Winter Games and an Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup campaign filled with standout performances and major storylines across the sport.
Two Club5 members played central roles during the Olympics. Cortina d’Ampezzo hosted the women’s alpine races on the Olympia delle Tofane, while Bormio staged the men’s events on the Stelvio.
Representatives from the 26 local organizing committees that make up the Club5 Ski Classics Sport Association met in Portorož during the annual FIS Spring Technical Meetings to discuss the past season and prepare for next winter. Organizers also reaffirmed their commitment to helping improve and develop Alpine skiing events moving forward.
FIS President Johan Eliasch and FIS CEO Urs Lehmann attended the meeting and expressed support for the organizers, whom they described as key stakeholders within the Alpine skiing landscape.
Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and Bansko join Club5
Club5 also announced the addition of two new members during the meeting. The Austrian organizer from Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and the Bulgarian organizer from Bansko were unanimously accepted into the association.
The organization said Zagreb withdrew its membership before the meeting.
“We are delighted to welcome Altenmarkt-Zauchensee and Bansko into the Club5 family,” Club5 President Rainer Senoner said in the release. “Their inclusion further confirms the importance of Club5 as a strong and united voice representing Alpine World Cup organizers.”
With the additions, Club5 now includes 27 member organizers.

Club5 also announced plans for its next biennial workshop, scheduled for September 2026 in Italy near Lake Garda.
According to the release, the event will focus on networking, knowledge sharing and innovation among organizers. Participants will also receive a behind-the-scenes visit to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, one of the most historic venues in motorsports.
