The men hit with another cancellation on the Birds of Prey in Beaver Creek! The weather has been really unfortunate for the men in this early season, which is a huge bummer for the athletes. Nevertheless, the men keep showing up with their chins held high.
Even after the cancellation yesterday, the village of Beaver Creek came to life with a fun evening of music, an exciting bib draw with giant cookies, a fireworks display and happy fans! The crowd went wild when Aleksander Aamodt Kilde took a large bite of the cookie that displayed his bib for today. Everyone had fun, and the events will continue today, even with the cancellation.
Although, the weather has caused cancellations of the last two days. The course committee is still hopeful for the chance at a super-G tomorrow. There has not been a lack of effort to attempt to get these races off. The volunteers and course crews have been working extremely hard to try and clean the course and make it safe for the athletes. Also, a large group of Ski and Snowboard Club Vail athletes volunteered to slip the last two days to try and get down to a harder surface. Today, the wind was another element to deciding not to run the race.

We will continue to keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow! The Team Captains Meeting and Bib Draw will be at 5:00PM LOC/MST
