Fredrik Moeller is recovering after a severe crash during the first World Cup downhill at Val Gardena on Thursday. The 25 year old lost control after a jump in the Camel Humps section of the Saslong course, widely regarded as one of the most challenging and demanding parts of the track, and landed heavily on his back before sliding down the slope.

Moeller was airlifted from the course and transported to hospital for further evaluation. Medical examinations revealed that he lost two front teeth and sustained significant bruising. According to national team physician Marc Strauss, Moeller is receiving close follow up care as he continues his recovery.

In a recent Instagram update, Fredrik Moeller confirmed that he is doing well and in stable condition. He sustained stable fractures to his spine at T4, T5, and T7, which do not require surgery, and his teeth have been treated. Doctors expect he can begin moving again in about 30 days. Moeller is in good spirits and looking forward to returning home to Norway this weekend.

Despite the seriousness of the crash, the positive outlook from both Moeller and the medical team is encouraging. We will continue to provide updates as they become available and wish Fredrik Moeller a smooth and speedy recovery.
