Special training was on schedule last Thursday for the German men’s downhill team as they took part in soccer training with Heimo Pfeifenberger, former national player and coach of the SC Wiener Neustadt.

“The training with Heimo Pfeifenberger was the highlight of the camp,” Josef Ferstl said. “He is an extremely cool guy and taught us many tricks. The training was really exhausting but also extremely fun.“

“We were very happy that Heimo was able to take the time to lead a [soccer] training session with our speed team,” remarked head coach Mathias Berthold. “The boys gave their all and were able to profit from the competence of the former Austrian top scorer and Champions League player.”

In general, Berthold was very satisfied with the quality of the second central endurance training camp and the first-class conditions they encountered at the VIVA Landessportcenter in Steinbrunn/Burgenland.
