In episode 27 of the Skiing is Believing Podcast summer series, Alan and Matt spoke to French alpine ski racer Flavio Vitale.

The 19-year-old spoke about how he got into the sport of alpine ski racing by growing up close to Les Club des Sports de Tignes.

Flavio recounted his memories of attending the 2009 World Championships in Val d’Isere with his parents when he was just four years old.

He also recalls collecting the DVDs from the event and having them on repeat in his house throughout the year.

Additionally, Flavio talked about his excellent experiences over the last few years with Apex 2100 and the fantastic project that he has been a part of. He says the project has allowed him to reach the early heights of his short career.

Last season, he achieved two Europa Cup podiums, started two FIS World Cup races, and was delighted to secure a place on the French national ski team ahead of the new season.

He made it clear on the podcast that he hopes to continue earning world-class results across the Europa Cup and intends to carry that momentum into the World Cup.

He also spoke of the current and hopeful future strength of the French national ski team, which he is very excited to be part of.

The episode takes on a humorous tone as he recounts a comical anecdote about having previously observed athletes like Alexis Pinturault and now collaborating with him on a weekly basis.
