On Friday, Swiss rising star Michelle Gisin announced a partial tear of her right MCL that will sideline her for a few weeks. In regular cases, this injury can take between 2-6 weeks to heal.

“I am already positive and motivated to be fit again soon,” said the 23 year old. “In the next few days and weeks, I will do everything I can to stabilize the knee with my physiotherapist. Physiotherapy and hopefully, soon again, light training will determine my course of the day, and I look forward to coming back to the team.”

Gisin earned her first World Cup podium last season in Val d’Isere, France, taking second place in the alpine combined. She repeated that result at the 2017 World Championships in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
