Jackie Wiles is headed into surgery for the second time this season, this time following a knee injury prior to the world championship downhill.
Wiles previously had surgery for her broken clavicle following a crash in the Val d’Isere super G in December. She had recovered and rehabbed in time to compete in the Cortina world championships.
Wiles provided a personal update on social media informing of a second injury this season, this time in her knee, requiring another surgery.
“Sadly my season is ending early once again,” she wrote. “Hurt my knee warming up for the downhill race I’m Cortina. I’m frustrated, yet eager to push back stronger. I came into this season finally feeling like my old self but immediately battled injuries all season. Luckily it’s nothing serious just a little clean up.”
