Who is racing, when are they racing, and how to watch the Kranjska Gora GS

The men’s season GS title is still undecided, with two giant slalom races remaining on the schedule. Only Marco Odermatt and Henrik Kristoffersen are mathematically capable of winning the GS title. However, as well as Odermatt is skiing, it will take great skiing by Kristoffersen and a total collapse of Odermatt for the Norwegian to overtake the Swiss star.

Today the FIS and the local race crew delivered another race course miracle. Tomorrow won’t be easy but easier, they are expecting an overnight freeze and no precipitation. However, today’s race was certainly fair.

Seven North Americans will race the Sunday Kranjska Gora GS

The Stifel US Alpine Team has two members, two US independents, and Alpine Canada Aplin has entered three. Uniquely, the Stifel US Alpine Team continues to offer World Cup opportunities to deserving US independents. Two of the four US athletes in tomorrow’s GS are former members of the US Ski Team, now skiing with US coach Paul Epstein’s independent Global Racing. Canadian James Crawford did ski today but then left to prepare for the speed events at the Andorra finals.

Paul Epstein of Global racing has set the first run of tomorrow’s course because his the coach of record for the Slovakian World Cup team.

three are currently ranked among the top 25, after tomorrow the top 25 will be invited to race in the Andorra finals

The North Americans entered for the Sunday, March 12th Giant Slalom

Tomorrow the daylight savings time change makes the start times unique. Europe changes its time on March 26th and the US changes at 2:00 am Sunday morning in each time zone to keep Saturday night bar closing times normal. But it means mountain and pacific time will not have changed yet for the start of the first run but the time will have in the eastern and central time zones. All time zones will have changed for the second run.

The First run start time is 9:30 CET, 4:30 am EDT, 3:30 CDT, 1:30 MST, and 12:30 am PST

The second run start time is 12:30 CET, 7:30 am EDT, 6:30 CDT, 5:30 MDT, and 4:30 am PDT

In the USA, the men’s World Cups in Kranjska Gora will be available for viewing live and as a replay on the streaming service Ski and Snowboard Live.
