With a year-round training model and a broad athlete pipeline, the resort is seeking both a Director-level leader and a range of seasonal alpine coaches to support its growing program.


Alpine Teams Director (Year-Round Leadership Role)

At the center of the hiring push is a year-round Alpine Teams Director position, designed for an experienced and forward-thinking leader who can guide both staff and athletes across all phases of the program.

The role extends well beyond the winter season. Responsibilities span:

  • Year-round program oversight, including summer mountain bike programming, conditioning, and long-term planning
  • Managing fall, winter, and spring operations, including training camps, staffing, budgeting, and marketing
  • Leading and developing a staff of 50+ employees
  • Working closely with parents, local schools, and community partners
  • Collaborating across multiple departments within Mammoth Mountain to support program delivery

Mammoth is looking for a candidate who brings:

  • A strong understanding of long-term athlete development (LTAD)
  • The ability to mentor coaches and positively impact athletes and families
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with U.S. Ski & Snowboard systems, with Level 300 certification (or equivalent) preferred

The position aligns with Mammoth’s broader leadership expectations, including prior coaching and management experience, and offers a salary range of approximately $85,000–$91,000 annually, plus benefits.


Coaches Wanted: Opportunities Across All Alpine Programs

Mammoth is also hiring alpine coaches for the 2026–27 season, with positions available across a wide range of teams and age groups.

From entry-level Mighty Mites to competitive and freeride pathways, the program supports athletes ages 6–18 in:

  • Competitive alpine
  • Development programs
  • Freeride and all-mountain teams

The resort is seeking:

  • Enthusiastic, high-level skiers who enjoy working with young athletes
  • Candidates with backgrounds in racing, coaching, or instructing
  • Certifications such as USSS (USSA) or PSIA are preferred

Coaches will be responsible for implementing training plans, supporting competition, and maintaining strong communication with families and staff.

Seasonal pay ranges from $20.00 to $26.94 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, with both part-time and full-time opportunities available.
