Mt. Mansfield Academy is proud to announce that their U14 team has made history as the first team from the USA to place 2nd in the overall team event at the prestigious Kandahar Junior race, held at Les Houches—Chamonix Mont Blanc, France. Competing against teams from Italy, Sweden, Belgium, Scotland, Great Britain, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, and America, the Mt. Mansfield Academy team showcased their exceptional talent and determination over three thrilling days of competition.
Outstanding Performances
The U14 category featured 120 girls and 120 boys, grouped into 60 mixed teams, competing across various events. The Mt. Mansfield Academy team secured second place overall in the team event but was also the first American team ever to win an individual race at the event, finishing with 2 race wins, a second place, 5th place, and multiple top 30 placings.
Bennett Eliason delivered standout performances with two race wins in slalom and panel slalom and a second-place finish in the giant slalom event. Killian Kingsbury also achieved an impressive 5th place in the Panel Slalom. Mt. Mansfield Academy’s team was also represented by Ellie Higgins, Addison Green, Caitlyn McGinley, Alaina Holman, Declan McConathy, and Teodor Gudasz, contributing to the team’s overall success.
