After Aleksander Aamodt Kilde decided he would not race the Kranjska Gora GS races, the FIS has declared Marco Odermatt as the overall World Cup winner. This will be the second year in a row that he has earned this title.

The men’s calendar still features six remaining starts for this season.

This includes two GS races in Kranjska Gora on March 11 and 12, and one start in each event at World Cup finals from March 15 – 19 in Soldeu.

Odermatt currently leads the overall World Cup standings with 1626 points. Kilde is in second with 1240 points. However, Kilde is not a threat to the overall globe. He will not start the World Cup Finals slalom and ultimately cannot score enough points to overcome Odermatt.

Odermatt has also locked down the SG globe for the 2023 season, while Kilde claimed the downhill title.

Odermatt has started 22 World Cups and been on the podium 18 times so far this season. Nine of these starts resulted in a first place, five were silver and four were bronze.
