After a cancellation on Sunday, Panorama successfully ran men’s and women’s NorAm super-Gs on Monday.
The women’s podium featured an American and Canadian, but also added an Argentinian to the mix. Alix Wilkinson finished in first for her first NorAm victory with a time of 1:22.97. Cassidy Gray and Francesca Baruzzi Farriol claimed their first NorAm podiums, 0.84 and 1.65 seconds off of Wilkinson, respectively.
In total, three Americans and four Canadians finished in the top 10. This included Mary Bocock in fifth and Lauren Macuga in sixth for the Americans and Sarah Bennett in fourth, Justine Lamontagne in ninth, and Kiara Alexander in 10th for the Canadians.
This was Wilkinson’s first NorAm super G win. She said, “[I’m] very happy with today. Conditions were a little inconsistent and challenging today, but much better than what we saw yesterday. It was great to get a race in after yesterday’s cancellation.”
Of the 39 women to start the race, 11 did not finish.

The men’s podium was dominated by Canadians, with Riley Seger in first and Kyle Alexander in third. Sweden’s Franjo Von Allmen finished in second place. The top 10 consisted entirely of Canadians and Americans except for Von Allmen.
The top five finishers were separated by less than a second, only 0.62 seconds separated Riley Seger from Isaiah Nelson, who finished in fifth place. Cornelius Cooper was the top American finisher in fourth place. He had a positive reflection on the day, saying, “I was happy with the result today. I knew the potential was there I just had to perform. Certainly put a smile on my face when I crossed the line. I’m going to take the confidence into the rest of the series.”
Nelson, who was right behind in fifth said, “Today was a great day for super G. I think everyone was excited to race after yesterday’s cancellation, and we also got to start from the top (yesterday we were planning to run from the reserve start). The course set was pretty GS-like, with some pretty big turns and quick chicanes. The snow was hard but crumbled in some areas so it felt a little bally on the bigger turns. I had a good attacking mentality but was just a little uncomfortable which led to a few small mistakes mistakes. Overall I was happy to keep the skis running and get another solid result.”
Tomorrow is the parallel GS. Check in for updates.
