Who is skiing, when and how to watch the Saturday, Cortina d’Ampezzo Super-G
Notably, tomorrow’s start list includes overall leader Switzerland’s, Marco Odermatt. He has not competed since suffering a knee strain during a high-speed recovery while racing the first Kitzbühel downhill. Odermatt was on the start list for the Wednesday night Schladming GS, but after warming up, he decided against competing.
His nearest rival in the overall competition, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, raced both the second Kitzbühel downhill and the Schladming GS. In the last three races, he has gained 147 points on Odermatt in the overall competition. However, going into the Cortina races, Odermatt maintains a 193-point lead. Before Kitzbühel, his lead in the World Cup overall was 340 points.

Tomorrow is the replacement race for the canceled December 14th Val Gardena-Gröden super-G. The FIS is taking advantage of the Cortina d’Ampezzo slope that was expertly prepared for the women’s World Cups from January 18-22. The Olympia delle Tofane is the race piste that was built for the 1956 winter Olympics and will be used again for women during the 2026 Winter Olympic games. It has become a favorite annual stop on the women’s World Cup tour. Lindsey Vonn has won in Cortina d’Ampezzo six times.
Notably, the course famously includes the Schuss near the top with its 65% maximum grade that descends between two majestic cliffs.
North American teams will start 14 athletes, Alpine Canada Alpin will start eight, and the Stifel US Alpine Team will start six. Currently, the best-ranked North American male super-G skier is Canada’s James Crawford, 8th and the best-ranked Stifel US Alpine Team member is Ryan Cochran-Siegle, 14th.
