Who is racing, when are the racing, and how to watch

With the cancelation of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen downhill and giant slalom, the FIS got creative. Someone came up with the idea of having a night GS in Schladming. It is brilliance. The brilliant lighting that illuminates the slalom arena is augmented with temporary lights above the slalom start to the top of the GS.

Night races are the best for the fans and a great spectacle. However, a night World Cup GS is unheard of, but why not. They will utilize one of the best arenas in the sport and the fantastic Planai slope.

Nine North Americans will race the Schladming night GS

North American teams have nine skiers entered in the night race. Stifel US Alpine Team has entered four and Alpine Canada Aplin has entered five.

The North Americans entered for the January 25th Schaldming night Giant Slalom

The first run of the Giant Slalom begins at 11:45 am Eastern time and 8:45 am on the West Coast. The second run is scheduled to air at 2:45 pm Eastern time and 11:45 am on the West Coast. 

Peacock TV will offer the Schladming live and replay in the United States.
