The second scheduled downhill in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, was canceled due to heavy snowfall on Saturday morning. Thick piles of snow blanketed the course, causing the race organizers to cancel the race first thing in the morning before any athletes made their way to the hill.

This is the third canceled race in the past four events, with both races in Bad Kleinkirchheim, Austria, canceled last weekend due to high winds. The first Cortina downhill, won by Italian Elena Fanchini on Friday, was a make-up race for the canceled downhill in Bad Kleinkirchheim.

Race organizers have announced a new schedule in order to accommodate the cancellation. The ladies will now race downhill on Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m. CET and super G on Monday with a 10:45 a.m. CET start time.
