Both the ladies’ and men’s season opening Audi FIS Ski World Cup giant slalom races scheduled in Soelden, Austria, on Oct. 24-25, 2015 were confirmed following the official snow control on Thursday.
Markus Waldner (FIS Chief Race Director World Cup Men), Markus Mayr (FIS Race Director World Cup Women Technical Events), Emmanuel Couder (FIS Coordinator World Cup Men), Rupert Steger (Austrian Ski Event Marketing), race director Rainer Gstrein and course director Isidor Green participated in the official FIS snow control. Due to the good snow cover on the Rettenbach glacier, the opening World Cup races of the 2015-16 season were given the green light.
The forecast in the area is calling for moderate snowfall through the upcoming weekend with temperatures below freezing projected to continue through early next week.
