In 2012, U.S. Ski Team standout Lindsey Vonn admitted in a Red Bull interview that she feels a need for speed off of the hill – and has a few speeding tickets to prove it.

Is anyone surprised she has a history of driving fast? Not us. Luckily,  she was able to embrace her lead foot in a Formula Renault at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, earlier this month on June 14.

Lindsey Vonn of the United States drives Formula Renault 3.5 at Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria on June 14, 2016“It was unbelievable to drive a race car,” Vonn told CNN. “I haven’t felt the speed since February, but that’s exactly what is so much fun.”

While Vonn isn’t back on snow just yet (since she’s recovering from injury), she was able to put her ski skills to work while driving.

“In both sports you need the right timing,” she continued. “When to speed up, when to hit the brakes and how to find the best line.”

Vonn’s most recent adventures took her into the Irish wild with Bear Grylls, which seems like a good sign that she’s in shape and will be ready for anything next season.
