Following three successful years of Team America support for senior athletes pursuing their potential to reach the World Cup, Junior Team America is being formed to support the next generation of Vail champions.

Junior Team America is designed to support Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) athletes who have achieved a nationally or internationally recognized level of current performance.

“Junior Team America is an important initiative for SSCV to begin to change the paradigm in snow sports where only the most successful international athletes are funded and costs increase as athletes reach higher performance levels in their sport,” remarked SSCV Executive Director Aldo Radamus. “It is critical to insure that SSCV’s young athletes are supported with the programming and, where needed, the financial support to pursue their goals.”

Together with the world-class mountain, community support, facilities, coaching and academic partners, Vail is uniquely positioned to provide support and opportunity for winter sports athletes.

“SYNC is excited to partner with Ski and Snowboard Club Vail and the TA Foundation in support of Junior Team America. As a company dedicated to performance and focused on the alpine athlete, we will be providing Junior Team America with the apparel and gear they require to help them achieve their full potential. We look forward to working closely with each of the athletes, gaining valuable insight into what works and having them play an active role in new product development,” said SYNC Performance Co-President Phil Shettig.

The inaugural Junior Team America will include Lucy Bailey (YOB 1998), Colby Lange (1999), Kaitlyn Harsch (2001), and Cleo Braun (2001).

“We are pleased to add these junior athletes to our roster of supported athletes. Like our Senior Team America Team, who compete at the NorAm, Europa Cup and World Cup levels, these exceptional developing young athletes have not only achieved outstanding age group performance, but also demonstrate the commitment, passion and character to fulfill their potential,” said  TA Foundation Founder and Chairman Dan Leever.
