Radamus Takes a Stand for Affordability
Stifel U.S. Ski Team athlete River Radamus has announced a groundbreaking initiative to fund all U.S. U16 skiers who qualify for the Federation of European Ski & Snowboard Associations (FESA) Alpine Ski Cup. The international event, held Feb. 28–March 10 in Les Menuires, France, is a critical stepping stone for young athletes but comes with a significant $3,000 price tag.
“I’m trying to do my part to ensure the sport becomes less expensive as these athletes climb the ladder,” Radamus said. “Not more.”
Selection Process and Funding Details
The U.S. team of three boys and three girls will be chosen based on results from the U16 National Performance Series (NPS) event in Burke, Vermont, held Jan. 5–10. Radamus’ support ensures that qualifying athletes can focus entirely on their performance without worrying about financial barriers.
ARCO Foundation and World Cup Dreams Partnership
To fund the project, Radamus is teaming up with his nonprofit, the ARCO Foundation, and the World Cup Dreams Foundation. Since its launch in July 2023, the ARCO Foundation has distributed over $65,000 to support aspiring skiers and hosted a five-day on-snow camp for 15 athletes. Now in its second season, the foundation is assisting 21 U.S. U16 athletes, with Radamus’ latest initiative as a key highlight.
Making a Difference in Youth Ski Racing
Radamus, an Olympian and World Champion, is committed to addressing the financial challenges that often limit young talent. By alleviating the costs of competing internationally, he aims to make ski racing more accessible for the next generation.
