By earning tenth place in the 2022/23 World Cup Slalom standings and winning the giant slalom and slalom at the 2023 FIS Junior World Ski Championships, Sweden’s Hanna Aronsson Elfmann put herself in the international spotlight. However, Injury reasons will likely delay the start of her 2023/24 season. The Scandinavian experienced a fall during the Cerro Castor giant slalom on September 12th and experienced pain in her left foot.

An initial on-site diagnosis did not reveal any serious injuries, but the follow-up exam at home revealed a different result, according to www.skidorf.com. The MRI scan showed a minor fracture. “It is an injury with a good prognosis. But there is a risk that she will miss the first two races in the World Cup. However, Sweden’s team doctor, Anders Stålman, says, “There should be no danger for the rest of the season.”

The 20-year-old’s foot was placed in a special splint to stabilize it. After four weeks, medical professionals will take another x-ray to ensure the foot heals properly.
