As Fischer ski says goodbye to their longtime athlete, Vincent Kriechmayr, they introduce a new athlete to their pool –Switzerland’s Luca Aerni. The 27-year recently made the switch from long-time sponsor Salomon. He joins his teammates Daniel Yule and Tanguy Nef in the Fischer pool.

Since his second-place podium in the Madonna di Campiglio slalom back in 2017, Aerni said his set-up has felt slightly off like he no longer could find the perfect fit. Aerni’s decision comes after much deliberation, as his father Jean Charles has worked for Team Salomon for years.

Since Thursday, June 11, Aerni has been training on the glacier in Crans Montana as the first Swiss athlete to get back on snow, while simultaneously getting a feel for his new set-up.

“Last winter, the Salomon skis demanded a particularly powerful driving style, but the Fischer skis needed more feeling. And that suits my skiing style more,” Aerni told the Swiss media outlet, BLICK sports.
