North American women made major gains in World Cup giant slalom this season, with the Stifel U.S. Ski Team finishing second in the Nations Cup GS standings and Alpine Canada Alpin’s Valérie Grenier returning strong. With podiums from Paula Moltzan, breakout performances from Katie Hensien and Britt Richardson, and a growing list of point scorers, both teams look primed for Olympic success in 2026.
After two more days of exciting tech races in Panorama Resort, British Columbia, the NorAm Finals concluded. The men competed in slalom and the women battled in giant slalom.
The NorAm Finals kicked off with a downhill race. Challenging weather conditions canceled the second downhill race. Isaiah Nelson and Allison Mollin won and earned downhill NorAm Cup Titles. Wiley Maple and Haley Cutler also achieved the second NorAm Cup downhill titles.
The first run of the Women's World Cup giant slalom in Soldeu Andorra could not create a significant time differential. After the first seven racers had skied, only (0.67) separated the group. Notably, the woman who delivered the slowest time from the group was the season's GS leader, Switzerland's Lara Gut-Behrami. The fastest of the group was Italian Marta Bassino.
