Lindsey Vonn Shines in Comeback, Brignone Wins St. Anton Downhill as Blanc Stuns

At 34 years old, Federica Brignone claimed her first-ever World Cup downhill win in St. Anton, becoming the oldest woman to achieve this feat. Swiss rookie Malorie Blanc stunned the field, skiing into second place from bib 46, just 0.07 seconds behind Brignone. Lindsey Vonn, in her highly anticipated return, finished sixth, only 0.58 seconds back, leading a strong U.S. team performance with Lauren Macuga in ninth and Breezy Johnson in 11th.

Châtel Hosts 2024 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships Downhill: Highlights and Surprises

The 2024 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships opened on January 30 with the men’s and women’s downhill races, held in Châtel, one of 12 resorts in Portes du Soleil, France. While the weather has been warm and sunny at the lower elevations, Châtel features north-facing slopes at the end of a valley, so the track stayed cold and hard for the speed events.
