The Peak School is a progressive, coeducational college preparatory middle and high school located in the high peaks of Summit County, Colorado. The Peak School is currently seeking two full-time faculty members for the 2026–2027 school year:
- Upper School Math Teacher (Grades 9–12)
- Spanish Teacher (Middle & Upper School)
Both positions begin August 2026.
Upper School Math Teacher (Grades 9–12)
Responsibilities
- Teach up to four math courses to upper school students, which may include Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus
- Serve as an advisor to students
- Lead or support an elective course during part of the academic year
- Prepare course materials including syllabi, quizzes, tests, assignments, and rubrics
- Utilize The Peak School’s learning management systems (JumpRope and Google Classroom) for course content, grading, and attendance
- Provide additional academic support and mentorship to students as needed
- Assess student progress regularly and provide written feedback and reports
- Foster a classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles and encourages intellectual curiosity
- Collaborate with faculty across disciplines and participate in the school community
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with students, colleagues, and families
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Experience working with high school students
- Knowledge of current teaching pedagogies and differentiated instruction
- Comfort integrating technology into classroom learning
- Commitment to an inclusive and respectful community
- Willingness to participate in the school’s Outdoor Education program
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- A growth mindset, sense of humor, patience, and enthusiasm for working with adolescents
Spanish Teacher (Middle & Upper School)
Responsibilities
- Teach up to five Spanish courses to middle and upper school students
- Develop course materials including syllabi, assessments, and instructional resources
- Utilize JumpRope and Google Classroom to manage course materials, grading, and attendance
- Provide academic support and mentorship to students
- Assess and report on student progress regularly
- Create engaging classroom environments that support a variety of learning styles
- Collaborate with other faculty members and contribute to the school community
- Lead or assist with an elective course during part of the year (ability to teach an art elective is a plus)
Qualifications
- Fluency in spoken and written Spanish
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Experience or interest in working with middle and high school students
- Knowledge of current language teaching pedagogies
- Comfort integrating technology into the classroom
- Commitment to an inclusive community and respect for differences
- Willingness to participate in the Outdoor Education program
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with adolescents
Compensation & Employment Details
- Start Date: August 2026
- Salary Range: $52,500 – $75,000 (based on education and experience)
- Employment is contingent upon a successful background check.
