Get ready for the Val d’Isère Slalom on Sunday, December 10th. Last year’s winner, Lucas Braathen, and the 2023 World Cup SL Champion left the sport due to irreconcilable differences concerning personal rights with the Norwegian Ski Federation. But Austrian Manuel Feller, who finished second in the 2022 GS and SL, is set to race. Switzerland’s Loic Meillard, the third-place finisher, is also in the lineup. Also, watch Norway’s reigning World Champion, Henrik Kristoffersen.

In the 2022 Val d’Isère Slalom, Canada’s Erik Read was the sole North American to qualify for the second run, finishing 21st. Despite Braathen’s departure being a significant blow, this year’s event promises intense competition and thrilling skiing action with a mix of seasoned veterans and rising stars. Who will emerge victorious on the challenging La face de Bellevarde race venue? Find out on Sunday!

In Gurgl, Austria, the only Men’s World Cup slalom this season, the Austrians dominated with a podium sweep. Feller claimed the top spot, Marco Schwartz secured second, and Michael Matt finished third. Britain’s Dave Ryding, the oldest man in the field, impressed with a fourth-place finish. The Austrian triumph adds to the anticipation of the Val d’Isère slalom, as fans eagerly await another offering of skill and power on the Val d’Isère’s Stade Olympique de Bellevarde. It isn’t ideal not having the reigning champion on the start list, but the race will be exciting between the challenge of the venue and the skill of the men who ski slalom.

They met the challenge today. and will start at 2:00 am CET to provide the best surface possible. The Stifel US Ski Team men’s slalom coach, Matic Skube, has set the first run.
