It was a perfect way to kick off the Audi FIS World Cup season: an icy slope, tight races, great winners, an amazing crowd and blue skies to enhance it all.

On the ladies’ side, Federica Brignone claimed her first World Cup win ahead of Mikaela Shiffrin and Tina Weirather. Giant slalom superstar Ted Ligety claimed the first 100 points up for grabs on the men’s side, with Thomas Fanara and Marcel Hirscher just behind him in second and third, respectively. Relive all the action from Soelden in this FIS Behind the Scenes look at the opening race weekend.
