Wendy Holdener sidelined with injury
Wendy Holdener has to interrupt her preparation for the upcoming season. The two-time alpine combined world champion fell on Friday during a slalom training in Saas-Fee and suffered a non-displaced fracture of the right fibula.
This was revealed by the results of extensive examinations carried out at the Balgrist University Clinic in Zurich.
“Although surgery is not imperative, the time required for healing could compromise Wendy Holdener’s participation in the World Cup opener in Soelden in mid-October,” says Walter O. Frey, Swiss-Ski’s Chief Medical Officer.
