When bib 3 Mikaela Shiffrin left the start, it was immediately apparent that she had spent her holiday improving. Skiing at another level, Shiffrin will take a (+0.63) lead over Sweden's reigning Olympic GS champion Sara Hector. But Hector is the only racer to finish within a second of Shiffrin. The Norwegian star Raghild Mowinckel had the third fastest time but (+1.03) behind. Also, the season's discipline leader, Switzerland's Lara Gut-Behrami, ends the morning ranked 4th (+1.49).
Peter LangeDec 28, 2023Marco Schwarz took possession of the leader's throne. Cleent Noel took 2nd place and Dave Ryding earned 3rd place. Check out more deatils on the Madonna di Campiglio race.

Peter LangeDec 22, 2023The women's last first run of 2023 was spectacular. The current World Cup discipline leader, Mikaela Shiffrin skied as she has for most of the year, which is inspirational. Although her lifelong rival, Slovakia's Petra Vlhová, skied brilliantly, she could not execute through the most challenging hairpin with the skill of the world's best. Stifel US Ski Team's Shiffrin will ski last again on the second run and poetically close out 2023. Although Shiffrin was only (-0.17) faster than Vlhová, the Slovakian finished the first run (-1.06) faster than third-place Austrian Katharina Liensberger.

Peter LangeDec 21, 2023Marco "The Magnificent" Odermatt continues his domination of men's giant slalom. Switzerland's Odermatt used his unmatched skills to win his fourth career Alta Badia Gran Risa GS. It was the 17th GS victory of his career. It is hard to believe what this man is capable of. Men's GS is filled with exceptional talent, but Odermatt delivers a level the field can not match.
Peter LangeDec 18, 2023Starting five World Cups in five days, the Swiss were concerned about how much energy Marco Odermatt had remaining in his legs. However, he seemed to have found plenty in reserve. His first run in the final GS of 2023 was everything fans hope to see from the world's best.
Peter LangeDec 18, 2023Odermatt, who raced the previous three days in Val Gardena/Gröden, showed no lack of energy while winning his career 16th World Cup GS.
Peter LangeDec 17, 2023The Italian duo won back the podium on the challenging Val-d'Isère super-G course, with Federica Brignone taking first place. Lauren Macuga of Stifel US Ski Team earned 17th-place.
Ellie HartmanDec 17, 2023The first racer on the Gran Risa was Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen. However, after the first seven racers skied, he was (+1.91) behind the Swiss leader Marco Odermatt. When Odermatt skis with his average precision and balance, no one in the world can match him.
Peter LangeDec 17, 2023Today belongs to Italy. On home soil, the big man Dominik Paris won his first World Cup since March 2022. The winner of 22 career World Cups is the toast of Val Gardena/Gröden.
Peter LangeDec 16, 2023The winner of the first men's super-G of the 2023-24 season is Austrian star Vincent Kriechmayr. Kriechmayr used high-speed skiing in sections one and three to finish a mere (-0.02) faster than his teammate Daniel Hemetsberger. The 2021 World Champion wins his eighth World Cup super-G of his career.
Peter LangeDec 15, 2023Stifel U.S. Ski Team's 31-year-old 6' 7" Bryce Bennett wins his career second Saslong World Cup downhill. Skiing with bib 34 and taking advantage of the improving light, the 2021 Val Gardena/Gröden champion does it again.
Peter LangeDec 14, 2023Today, it didn't require second-run perfection for Marco Odermatt to win his third consecutive Val d'Isère giant slalom. He left the start with a (-1.23) advantage over Austria's Marco Schwarz and fought the entire way using astonishing athleticism to cross with a (-0.98) victory
Peter LangeDec 09, 2023Mikaela Shiffrin reigns victory again in stunning fashion! Third out of the start, she immediately found her solid tuck and attacked each panel with confidence and the grit to win (1:28.34). Italians Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone take second and third.
Ellie HartmanDec 09, 2023Last season, Switzerland's Marco Odermatt dominated the sport of men's giant slalom. After the first run on Val d'Isère's Stade Olympique de Bellevarde race venue, he still appears to be the best.
