Getting Ready for Winter, Together: Inside Loveland Ski Club’s New Partnership With SYNC

Getting a ski team outfitted for winter takes more than picking out jackets. Loveland Ski Club’s season kickoff showed how the right support can make ordering easier for families, reduce work for club staff and bring the community together ahead of winter.
On the first Sunday in October, Loveland Ski Club brought its community together at Loveland Valley Lodge for its annual membership kickoff. More than 250 people had RSVP’d, new team jackets were ready for pickup and athletes, parents, coaches and volunteers were preparing for the season ahead.
SYNC joined the event with a try-on booth, sizing samples and access to Loveland’s SYNC team store. Families could try on pants, jackets and layers, ask questions and get help finding the right fit before placing their orders.
“Working with SYNC has been extremely easy and a big upgrade for us! What stood out most was their team’s responsiveness and desire to go above and beyond,” said Sarah Mercy, executive director of Loveland Ski Club.
Service Is Part of the Product
I understand why that kind of support matters.
When I was a high-performance director, I spent far more time managing team uniforms than I expected. There were sizes to track, jackets to distribute and parents to help. Families deserved answers, but every hour spent resolving a clothing issue was time I could not spend supporting athletes and coaches.
That experience changed the way I thought about choosing a uniform supplier. Price, fit and product performance mattered, but so did what happened after the order was placed. A company willing to take responsibility for family questions and product issues brought real value to the program.
At Loveland, that support began by listening.
Before the kickoff, Mercy shared that families had questions about pants and women’s cuts, which can be particularly difficult to size online. SYNC responded by bringing full-size runs of pants, training pieces, jackets and layers for families to try in person.
Tai Juneau from SYNC’s customer service team attended with clothing racks, a branded canopy and QR codes linking families directly to the Loveland team store. Parents could get sizing questions answered, athletes could check their fit and everyone could head into the season with one less item on their to-do list.
“Having SYNC onsite at our kickoff party was invaluable! Families appreciated being able to check sizing in person before ordering, and we heard nothing but great things.” Mercy said.
For club staff, having a clear place to send families for gear and sizing support can take some of the pressure off. Instead of fielding every question and coordinating every detail themselves, they can focus on preparing athletes and coaches for the season.
Making Team Gear Easier
For Katie Gilligan, vice president of SYNC Custom, being a good uniform partner means understanding what clubs actually need and finding ways to make the process easier.
“Over the past five years, we have continued to evolve SYNC Custom around one goal: supporting clubs in as many ways as possible,” Gilligan said. “We want to make the process easier for administrators, provide meaningful value to families and remain a true partner long after the initial uniform order.”
Loveland’s SYNC team store gives families one place to order their club gear. Families can select and pay for their own items, which means less order coordination for club staff and a simpler experience for parents.
“Setting up our team store gave our families one place to order club gear, either blank or with the LSC logo, which has simplified things for parents and for our staff,” Mercy said.
Loveland’s kickoff shows how that support can work in practice: helping families find the right fit, simplifying ordering and continuing to support the club after the initial uniform order.
Team Pricing for the Whole Club
Loveland’s team store is not limited to required uniform pieces. Through its Family & Fan Shop, athletes, parents, siblings and supporters can shop the full SYNC catalog at the club’s exclusive, pro-like pricing. Gear can be ordered blank or customized with the LSC logo, making it easier for the entire community to feel connected to the team.
Ski racing requires a significant investment from families. Between equipment, program fees and travel, the costs can add up quickly, especially when more than one family member spends time on the mountain. The goal of the Family & Fan Shop is to make SYNC gear more accessible by extending team-exclusive discounts beyond the athlete and supporting the whole family.
That access gives families the freedom to choose the layers, outerwear and training pieces that meet their individual needs. Parents traveling to races, siblings cheering from the sidelines and other supporters can all access the same preferred pricing and choose whether to add the team’s logo.
The required uniform helps athletes show up as a team. The Family & Fan Shop gives the people supporting them a practical benefit and a tangible way to be part of the club community too.
