Academic Approach: Sugar Bowl Academy’s learning process is connected, personal, and dynamic. Sugar Bowl Academy offers a full range of college preparatory and AP courses. All courses foster critical thinking and effective communication. Sugar Bowl Academy’s curriculum is designed to empower student-athletes with the mindset and skills necessary to pursue their aspirations in a changing future. Instruction is personalized, dynamic, experiential, and engaging. The SBA academic experience emphasizes depth and breadth of content, stresses critical and creative thinking, and relies on active participation.
Athletic Approach: Throughout the competition season, athletes are on on-snow five to six days per week, either training or racing. While at Sugar Bowl, the daily training schedule will allow time for all facets of alpine ski racing including on-snow training, video analysis, physical recovery and equipment maintenance. We build year-round athletic calendars taking into account the athlete’s ability, experience and physical condition and tailored to your goals. Whether you want to make the U.S. Ski Team, race for an NCAA or USCSA collegiate program, we’ll provide you with every opportunity to take your skills as far as they can go. The preparation period begins after the final race of the season — and we’ll be ready with a comprehensive offering of on-snow camps. We plan camps locally (Tahoe and Mammoth), nationally (Mt. Hood and Colorado) and abroad (Chile, New Zealand, Europe) to enable you to be on-snow up to 60 days before the ski racing season begins. You’re encouraged to work with our coaches and find out what makes most sense for your family — one size does not fit all. We provide the opportunities; you take advantage.
