Who is skiing, when and how to watch the Adelboden slalom

Tomorrow the World Cup men will race slalom on what has become the 2023 miracle race hill. Adelboden is a classic, but this year there is no snow and no freezing temperatures to make it. During today’s GS, there was the race trail, and immediately next to it was green summer pasture.

The FIS staff had honestly reported the challenges being experienced while preparing the hill but seeing it today made one realize they had pulled off a ski racing miracle.

The GS is one of the most complex venues on the planet but most of the slalom is fairly straightforward until you break over the final pitch. The same terrain exists, but at slalom speed, most of the race hill isn’t at the ability limit of most World Cup skiers. However, their legs become exhausted from working for speed in the milder terrain and then they face the same finish pitch as the GS skiers. If they want to be competitive, they need to ignore their physical pain and continue to attack.

If you want advice for your fantasy team, please include Henrik Kristoffersen. The man may not be the fastest every day, but he is always around the lead. Also, it is impossible to forget the Val d’lsere performance of Lucas Braathen. His two runs in France are among the best runs in the history of the sport. Two athletes who are likely to experience good results soon are Olympic silver medalist Johannes Strolz and Atle Lie McGrath, the young skier who finished third in the slalom standings last season. However, it seems impossible that Austrian Manuel Feller isn’t ready to return to the top step of the podium. Additionally, Swiss athlete Daniel Yule will likely gain energy from the home crowd and duplicate the level of his Madonna di Campiglio skiing.

The crowd will again be a large part of the story on Sunday. Adelboden’s fans have always provided a lot of energy to the event.

After Garmisch-Partenkirchen, North America now has two male slalom skiers on the points board. The latest one is Luke Winters, who is the US’s strongest male slalom skier. Luke had a very strong finish to last season and has always been good on warm snow. In total, six North Americans will compete in the Sunday race. The Canadians have entered three and the US has done the same.

The first run of the Giant Slalom begins at 4:30 am Eastern time and 1:30 am on the West Coast. The second run is scheduled to air at 7:30 am Eastern time and 4:30 am on the West Coast.

In the United States, Ski and Snowboard Live offers live and full replay with English-speaking announcers.

In Canada, World Cup can be viewed on CBC sports
